SmoothStar will be hosting a surf training on land with expert surf coaches in La Arena, Basque Country on the 30th of April 2022. All surfing levels can participate from beginners, intermediate and advanced, no skate experience is needed. Dedicated coaches will provide movements that are related to surfing.

Coaching covers:

Improving Balance & Surf Posture
Increase Speed Generation
Better Bottom & Top Turns
Compression & Extension
Shoulder Rotation through turns

The coaching is conducted on a flat area, so even beginners will be comfortable.

EVENT FAQ

What is the Booking Fee?

The booking fee covers administration of the booking and management of the event. It also includes the ability to reschedule to later dates in case of bad weather. We have kept the costs of the training free. If you change your mind and can't make it, the booking fee is already used and non refundable.

What level am I?

Beginner Level: first timers or surfers catching their own waves in whitewater.
Intermediate Level: Catching green waves, trimming and starting to do turns.
Advanced Level: Bottom/Top turns going left and right. Starting to do more critical turns.

Do I need a SmoothStar?

100% not. We will have many boards available to ride. They will all be fully serviced and suitable for each student.

What if it rains?

Riding when the surface is wet and dangerous. If the weather forecast is severe, the event will be postponed to another date. You will not lose your booking fee.

Do I need to wear a helmet?

100%. All students must wear a helmet as part of SmoothStar safety insurance policy. No Helmet, no riding. Additional safety equipment such as knee/elbow and risk guards are optional.

Can I ride another skateboard?

You can ride whatever board you want before or after the lesson. Due to insurance purposes, students cannot ride any other branded product during the class period.

COVID Event Policy

SmoothStar International abides by the latest government requirements. All SmoothStar staff have the latest vaccination requirements and will have RAT tests 12hrs prior to the event. If you have health covid concerns we recommend you wear a mask. Coaches will do their best to keep social distances where appropriate.
