The Barracuda's wheelbase is the smallest of all the complete SmoothStar adult models. It is the entry point of all the Thruster board series. The Barracuda is specifically designed for young surfers. It’s a super responsive, take it anywhere, mini board. The Barracuda is one of the most compact boards of the SmoothStar range, making it easy to carry and transport. If you have another SmoothStar Thruster, you can fit it easily to this deck.

The Transition for Groms

The 28" Barracuda is smallest model for groms that utilise the full blown Thruster setup. It is suitable for groms that want to take the next step and progress their carving turns. It will be much more responsive than the Mini Grom series but they will require the necessary weight to ride it.

Thruster D Technology

The 28" Barracuda model comes with the new SmoothStar Thruster D technology. The Thruster D is the latest in precision engineering that gives surfers the ultimate surf feeling with 15-12% more hold and drive through your surf turns. It's also lighter and comes with a 5 year warranty - read more.

Ease of Use

We've taken all the necessary weight and size off the board to make it super easy and light for groms to travel. As one of their main forms of transport, it makes it easy for them to take it anywhere under the arm and to their friends place. It still provides the functional performance of teen and the adult ranges. As groms start to understand how their bodies control their SmoothStar/surfboards - it gives them full range of movement.

Warum ist das Deck des Barracuda dünner als das des Flying Fish?

Das Barracuda ist für jüngere Kinder gedacht, deren Füße viel kleiner sind. Das bedeutet, dass man nicht die übermäßige Breite braucht, die der Flying Fish hat, da der Flying Fish für Groms bis Teenager mit größeren Füßen konzipiert ist. Die Deckbreite des Barracuda ist perfekt auf die durchschnittliche Fußgröße eines kleineren Kindes abgestimmt.

Warum dreht der Barracuda mit einem kürzeren Radstand etwas weniger als der Flying Fish?

Manchmal denken die Leute, dass der Flying Fish mehr dreht, aber das liegt hauptsächlich an der zusätzlichen Breite des Flying Fish, die es den Kids ermöglicht, sich etwas mehr in die Kurven zu lehnen. Durch die geringere Größe des Barracuda bewegt der Fahrer seine Füße nicht, was bedeutet, dass er das Board in der gleichen Haltung fahren kann, ohne seine Füße zu bewegen.
